ABOUT US

When Eric Jensen assembled a unique group of local drummers in the Fall of 2004, their ingenuity and focus quickly redefined the local description of "halftime entertainment". He had no idea they'd beat a path towards the creation of the successful organization it has become today.

After an inaugural 2004 on-court performance, The Groove Machine was revamped and fine-tuned to become this season's powerhouse of percussive entertainment. Now, after Jensen's recent investment in a slick new set of drums and having notched a half dozen games, their combination of high energy, precision drumming is gaining momentum and applause like never before. They are currently featured during select Trailblazer home games laying down grooves on the court for the Dancers and rallying the crowd from the stands.

Performing on contemporary marching percussion instruments typically utilized by marching bands and drum and bugle corps, many of their arrangements are custom-composed to maximize the unique sonic power the drums can produce - no microphones necessary. The group has recently landed spots on ESPN and Fox 12's "Good Day Oregon" show with Andy Carson. Their continuing efforts have generated local sponsorsips and garnered endorsements of top percussion authorities in the field such as Yamaha corporation, Vic Firth, Zildjian, and REMO.

The Groove Machine performances will extend far beyond the Rose Garden this summer, aiming for numerous public appearances throughout the Northwest. The group is currently accepting invitations to perform educational clinics along with shows at a wide range of events including parades, walk-a-thons, festivals, gala openings, rallys and just about anywhere exciting, high energy, mobile percussive entertainment is a hit.

The Groove Machine has assembled a cast of all-star performers and staff members for the 2006-2007 season, including former marching members of the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Knights, Oregon Crusaders, Seattle Cascades, and the University of Oregon.

The design and instructional team has worked with the broadway production "Blast!" as well as having several WGI, DCI, PASIC, and Marching Band percussion titles to their credit.

Rest assured when you get The Groove Machine, you are getting the best of the best!
