| Interesting Groove Machine Trivia:
Pat Fitzgerald and Mike Stevens both marched in the
Spartans and Blue Devils, although never together. Pat
would later teach Mike at the Spartans.
Vern Johnson marched with Pat in 1987 and Mike in 1989-90.
Mike taught the Cadets Quad Line from 1992-1995, and
Vern from 2003-2004.
Mike Apodaca taught Tigard High School, of which both
Mike Stevens (1987) and Rydell (2002) are graduates.
Apodaca marched with the Santa Clara Vanguard when Stevens
and Johnson were at Blue Devils. Rydell also marched
with Santa Clara in 2003-2004.
Pat went to high school with our director, Eric Jensen.
Dave Lauder marched Blue Devils after Vern and Mike
left to pursue other life avenues.
Byron and Dave were taught by Micah Brusse at UofO,
who was also Mike Stevens' snare tech at Blue Knights
in 1999 and 2000.
Pat lived with Vern when he was marching BD and Vern
was in the "B" corps.
Now we all find ourselves back in the NW and linked
together by The Groove Machine!
